There Will Be
My sweet child
Thou shan’t worry
For there will be time
You are allowed
To be a child
And to fall and laugh
And to cry and climb
You are allowed to say
Whatever your heart desires
For you are honest and pure
You are allowed to dance
With those wings on your back
For with them and your smile
You brew life’s cure
My sweet child
Thou shan’t worry
For there will be time
I allow you to roam
And discover discovering
Under rocks, behind trees
Those tall trees you climb
I allow you to watch
And inquisitively observe
Whatever you may wish
I allow you to grow
And to run past time
Skipping and swimming
Pretending to be a fish
My sweet child
Thou shan’t worry
For there will be time
Time for being small
And time for growing up
Time for wanting all
And time for nothing to pile up
Time for you to see
And time for you to be
For you, my child
Are me.
