too hung up on you
every time I breathe
I exhale your name like
a lilac mist slipping through
my lips.
It slides off my tongue so
gracefully, accompanied
by complimentary adjectives so sweet,
like beautiful (when describing
the state of your soul); kindred
like your smile on a
cold winter’s night; awestruck
(the way I feel when I
look into your eyes; I kid you not
those things don’t just take
your breath away, they steal it and run)
