Warmth
Sometimes when your heart droops heavy in your hands,
When you throat grows tight with chains,
When you eyes blur with kaleidoscopic tears,
When one silently slides down your cheek,
When you feel utterly alone,
The world leaps to your rescue.
Look outside. The sun envelopes you in a glimmering hug, warm and bright.
The wind reaches out to stroke your hair, brushing it past.
The plants sway towards you, sharing your sorrow.
The birds sing you a sweet lullaby.
The grass tickles your toes, coaxing a smile.
The silent cacophony relaxes your heart.
And when your eyes drift towards the sky,
That soft expansive blanket,
That vast, blue ocean of stories,
You feel that irrevocable connection to the thousands of other eyes,
That once searched the same sky for answers.
To the millions that search them now.
And you are no longer alone, enveloped in a blanket of warmth.
