"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head)."
-Sylvia Plath

I clean my house
my house
I clean
my mouth

with soapy bubbles forming
on my cheek.
Alliteration leaves
my house

my pen—
my pen, it leaves
my mouth
my mouth again

The author's comments:
I was reading some poems by Sylvia Plath, and then a few more by Gertrude Stein, and then this happened. I'm fairly sure it conveys nothing of the specific topic (trying to find non-dark, non-violent pieces of my writing for my school's literary magazine and then realizing that I'm going to have to clean something up). Oh well, I like poems that are fun to say--the best poems are the kind you want to read aloud.

Nom Nom Nom. This was YUM. Ahhahahhaa. Such a fun poem Em! I believe you've never written - or if written never shared - something like this before. Hence it was all the more fun to discover it. AND YES the best poems are definitely the kind you want to read aloud. Agreed. ^_^ Love always, Dua.
