I Want
As I sit here on my sheets
A raging mind sits restlessly in its cage
And my eyes flit back and forth
Watching strange eyes replace yours
God knows that I want to be out of the limits of nature
I want to tie up every loose string that sends pangs through your heart
I want to calm the waves that crash over your mind and leave you gasping for air
I want my good intentions to be enough
But all I have is a thought
And I hope it will carry you through the night
Know that even in Winter’s most ferocious hour
When the world is grey
The air is lonely
And the days are as icicles melting in your fingertips
That the sun waits patiently
To scatter the gray clouds
And fill the world with gold
And, if you ask me,
Winter’s ghost makes the scene all the more sweet

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.
