seasons and dreams
My friend spent the night
asleep on my floor and the next
morning in the midst of
pouring rain she told me that
I said your name in my sleep.
I can’t say that it came
as a surprise
My winter and spring was yours
heavy snow falling on my heart
weighing me down knowing
You would never be mine;
flowers blossomed in the bed
of my brain with
dreams of you loving me.
Nightly I feel your arms
around me, my head on your chest,
Large hands resting upon
my stomach.
You are the
daisies growing in the
Palms of my hands; smooth
wine slipping around the rough
edges of my cruel tongue.
