Hungry Girl
I want to be a fairy
she said
to pulverized cupcakes
pastel purple at the bottom of the trash
belly barely tame
I wanted to be a fairy
but came out like concrete
inkblots gray over every groove
A fairy
she said
with bubblegum pink bones
bare, but frosted so perfectly
in diamond and polyester
that you almost forget
the hollow crack of empty plastic
