Of Days Past
Of Days Past
We used to talk about all of the fun things we did,
The fun times we had together.
Now we talk about things we both know will never happen.
We used to tell each other everything,
All of our hopes and dreams.
Now I hesitate to tell you my secrets.
I used to think you knew me,
Better than anyone else ever had, ever would.
Now I feel as if you don't know me at all.
We used to spend days doing absolutely nothing,
Making up the stupidest games.
But they were fun and that was all that mattered.
Now everything we do feels forced.
Whatever happened to you and me?
I think back on those days and smile,
Wishing for them to return,
For things to be the way they were before.
