It didn't matter who I was to you
You don't care about the relationships you broke
You only pretend to care when it benefits you
You don't care how I feel
I am just a stupid dog to you
I never matter to you
You didn't care then and you don't now

But I do care
I do matter
I am not stupid
I am not a dog
My feelings do matter
I am important

I belong to a greater being than you
I belong to a more powerful being than you
I belong to the king of kings
I belong to God who cares how I feel
I belong to God who cares that I have a relationship with him
I belong to God who I do matter to
I belong to God who I am important to

I do care
I do matter

What inspired me to write this poem was my dad. He left and I felt that he didn't care.
