Live, Laugh, Love

Boxed in
Away from society
Being taught
Learning
Hours a day
Five days a week
Never exactly knowing
What you need to know
Always thinking
You’ll break
The chain
That holds you back
Then finally
That year draws
Nearer
But its still
So far
Growing older
More mature
Once again
Back in those chairs
Behind the small table
Papers spread across
The clock ticks
Times raging
Forward
Then suddenly
It’s May
One last month
On last chance
It flies by
Time seems so short
But it seems to drag on
You can see yourself
In the cap
In the gown
Walking across
A brightly lighted
Stage
Cheers
For your name
Shaking a hand
Receiving paper
A small token
To take with you
Forever
You wear the pride
Able to fly
Free
Able to live
Your own life
Escaping from
The prison
You called
School

This piece was inspired by the fact that I graduate from High School finally in 2 months and how excited i am to finally "break the chains" that tie me to the childish environment of school, until I attend college in September.
