Toxic Fumes
Smoke drift slowly through the sky.
Flocks of birds go flying by.
The prevailing winds push the smoke afar.
Turning the day to night; a night without a single star,
It’s noon.
Toxic fumes flood my lungs.
Burns my nose; in the air it hung.
Suffocating me from the inside and out.
Not even allowing me to shout,
For help.
Toxic fumes smother the bare land.
Replacing the oxygen, unable to stand.
Dying, crying for my life to be spared.
And to spare the ones for whom I cared,
About.
Toxic Fumes fills the air.
Thick fog of smoke hung everywhere.
The world begins to blur with the lack of breath.
The light begins to dim with the approaching death,
To come.
Smoke drift slowly from one hollow eye to another.
Gone from this world, forever.
Joining again with the charred earth under.
Severely punished for that one single blunder,
Deciding to stay.
