“Nice Blue shorts!”

“Go Away.”

Oh how I love that look.

They way someone looks when you surprisingly offend them.

Then I proceed to laugh and walk away.

Not a casual laugh like when you’re with your friends,

But more of a light, menacing laugh, one that makes people feel inferior.

Do you want to know why?

‘Cause they’re teal.

Get it right everyone,

I get commented on my “blue” shorts, even when they’re red.

Like really?

I’m wearing my red pair of red shorts and they comment on how blue they are.

Is everyone broken?

Or am I broken?

I’ve often considered, am I what’s wrong,

Am I the reason why?

Am I the reason Ted is dead?

Why he is being lifted down into the grave.

Why these people are gathered around mourning the loss of a loved one?

Why Ted’s girlfriend is not here, but in the grave closest.

She lost her life while giving birth to Ted’s daughter,

Who died in his arms, from the same sickness that plagued her mother.

Who would blame him when he drowned himself in the same place where he met his

wife,

On the beach.

And who would blame him when he died holding the one-piece swimsuit she wore when

they met.

Sure it’s sad that we lost a good, dear friend.

But his death was a mercy to him.

I will miss him,

He may be dead,

But he was the only one to comment on my Teal shorts.

*single tear*

This sounded very sincere, I could almost see you there when it happened. Excellent work!
