Trigger of Silence

Voices fill our heads,
reminding us to maintain
that all too familiar 4.0
and to devote every breath
to a life of obedience,
to a career that our
hearts do not beat for.
Our soul and brain
struggle in a never ending battle
to gain the right
to call the fair maiden,
our life goal, its own.
When we lean towards
our own desires,
the battle reaches its climax
and the cold end of the pistol
rubs into our temple,
advising us that we are not
in control of our future
but a slave instead.
