Miss Cancer
You are a dreamer and a make-believer
You hide away your sandpaper wings in your sea salt heart
Miss Cancer
Hide away that soft inside,
Inside your sandpacked shell- that stands against to defend the nightmares and wishes of your lovers and friends
So sad, little crab
You tend to sleepwalk, dreamwalk
And you've been accused of make believing in things you'll never reach.
But those who know you know you've just barely begun to plan
Just making sketches in the sand
So sad, little crab
You're like the moon, part of you is always hidden away
Tucked away safe in that too tight shell.
You have an ocean inside,
And it's crashing and rocking and knocking against your seasalt heart.
Miss Cancer, so sad
Your world may fall apart, leaving your shell shattered and strewn across the shore
Your soul exposed to hungry eyes
You still manage to paint yourself another color
You are the ocean, you reflect stars and souls and you make them your own.
Burrowed deep in sandy dreams
Born to burn brighter than all those other hearts
So sad, Miss Cancer
So sad
