As I saw your life
Deteriorate
Like a river carving rock
Away from the land
I could only laugh.

The broken shards
Of my fractured heart
Have knit together
Everything back in its place
Except
The love I once felt
For you.

No!
That is gone!
Cracked,
Into irredeemable chunks
From the despicably sweet deception.
Shattered,
Into serrated fragments
From the callous betrayal.
Scattered,
Into explicit uncertainty
From the hurricane of rage.
Only to slash and pierce
Engraving the entire nightmare
Within the pages of my heart,
Your counterfeit smirk the pen,
My blood and tears the ink.

Until you lost everything
And the tale concluded.
The pieces of the now
Nonexistent love for you
Burned,
And burned
In the fire created
By the joy of seeing you get
What you finally deserve

Yes.
I’ve healed.
Only faint scars remain
Concealed in my heart
Between the lines of my never-ending story.
But while your betrayal made me stronger,
It made you fade away.
