Thinking
I'm sitting in class, thinking, not thinking about,
trigonometry and mathematical formulas.
I'm thinking, more along the lines of,
me plus you equals...
I'm thinking, I'm thinking,
I'm thinking I wanna tell you,
how your eyes remind me of an endless blue blue sky,
or a crystal blue sea, and see, I'm thinking that I should tell you...
That I'm thinking about you,
the way yellow thinks about blue.
The way,
One plus
two equals...
Equals,
me telling you, I should tell you,
That I'm thinking about you,
The way an artist dreams of a muse,
and I'm thinking of your voice,
the way musicians listen to music.
And all I want is to tell you,
about how I'm sitting in Spanish class now,
right across from you,
not thinking of conjugating irregular verbs in the past tense.
I'm thinking in the present,
Bonita, beautiful,
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
and I want to tell you,
I see,
campos y campos de estrellas de verano.
