Fear and Hope
Fear is so ridiculous.
It stubbornly builds on top of itself,
trying to reach that point where it can take control.
Why do we let it build?
How come it has so long to grow into a giant?
Fear is so irrational.
It will take the smallest discomfort,
the tiniest doubt,
and it will twist and turn it until it becomes something else.
Until it becomes the monster under our bed.
How come no one has stopped it?
Fear is delusional.
It thinks it can win –
it thinks it can beat us.
It thinks there is nothing more powerful than fear,
there is nothing more daunting, more terrifying
than that growing shadow in the corner of a man’s heart.
Why have we let it control our lives?
Fear has never been more wrong.
It has forgotten about something.
Something very, very important.
There is hope.
And hope will always last.
There is hope of a better future,
a hope that someone cares for and protects us.
There is hope that someone above saw our plight,
saw the fear growing in every man’s heart,
and He decided to do something.
He came down, and He fought the fear.
With two pieces of wood,
He dragged our fears away.
With the strength that no man has,
He endured the fear and the pain,
He tore it apart because He saw us,
He tore it apart because He made us.
He tore it apart because He loves us.
So why do we let fear rule?
