sometimes MAG
Sometimes I wish I could wear the sky
as a cape.
I wish I could wear the rain
and let the fog close around me
and when I walked down the street, the
wind would roll
and peals of thunder when I bought milk.
And no one would think it was weird
when the sun rose across my back
or set on my knees.
And I wish
that I could sometimes pause
and set aside superhero ambitions.
Put the wind back in its jar
and set the stars on a shelf,
push the sun over the horizon
and hang the sky where it belongs.
