Autumn
Its the biting autumn breezes,
after the warm summer sun leaves us.
The leaves fade to a golden hue,
and drift to the frosty grass,
that bends like brittle glass.
Change;
is to transform.
My dog is not so young anymore.
Her teeth are rotting and decaying,
falling out, one by one.
Into her tarnished bowl.
It's the moon,
and every month we watch,
wax, wane.
Change, disappear,
into the sky where miles and miles away,
the stars die before our very eyes.
To change,
alter,
like a broken family.
Rotting from the inside.
Missing a mother,
lacking a lover.
Broken, and not so young anymore.
Falling out, one by one.
Full of broken hearts wishing on dying stars to heal the missing parts.
Its that person,
You would be anything for.
So I'm falling asleep to a new tune.
Conform, absorb,
the colors of her heart.
Change,
the little things.
Abandon a love of mint
to pursue, produce a passion for sugarless bubblegum.
So slowly the me I used to be,
is falling away.
Like golden leaves on autumn breezes.
