Unspoken
A battle’s fought inside my head,
A battle to tell the words I’ve never said.
The ghost of my past screeches for revenge,
Fighting my walls to the edge.
A fire is ignited in my throat,
Burning at the words I’ve never spoke.
A friend’s promise broken,
The words left unspoken.
Let her go or tell her what’s to be told.
But all I ask is will the friendship hold?
The rebel in me now in a grave,
Her ghost never coming to help me be saved.
The rhymes that I write is how I feel,
I can’t change a pattern that’s made of steel.
