Thread
Grandmother's like Ariadne
I carry her thread along
Whenever the cloak of life blinds me astray
I follow the path she'd sewn
By her thread
She always knits me parkas
So I won't feel mother's cold absence
But each time they give me useless warmth
She coats me with her arms instead
She tells me when the thread is cut
Go back and tie it to a knot
My journey might be beyond mountains and I might get lost
For that I can find my way home
I know her thread won't last long
Time weakens its strength and
She is right
My journey has taken me far now
But soon I'll come back to her with the thread
Which I use in embroidering
my masterpiece
The thread of Ariadne
Like the thread of my grandmother
I carry it all along
Following the path she'd sewn
