Into the Night

You see my heart
It overflows
Seeping love
Its seams are tearing
And it will soon run over.
Its waters will scour the mossy earth
Collecting treasures until the sun melts into pastel dreams
But when the last rays of the weary sun bleed from the sky
My river will not sink into a crevice and rest its pounding head upon its pillow
No.
It will stream into the night
With nothing but tomorrow carrying it down its path,
And the sigh of the midnight air breathing on its shoulders.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

All I can say is ... beautiful. This is breath-taking to read, I almost held my breath. It's that great. Your poem is amazing. Thank you for sharing your poem.
