You tell me that it wasn’t love
but I know that nothing else
hurts like this because
I freeze every time your favorite
song spills from the speakers of
my car and I can’t go anywhere
without seeing you because that
t-shirt would be something
you’d wear and maybe I should
buy you those socks but
scents and sights and sounds
associated with you twist through
my spine like a thousand little
daggers and I wish I could
have my brain drained of all
our memories so that I could forget
the love we did not share.
