Close My Eyes
I sent my worries to the stars
but they closed their starry lashes and sunk back into their silent ocean
oh I just keep waiting for my life to start
so I send my sorrows bathed in glass
and let the sea swallow them whole
but oh the sea just murmured that night
so i glance up into the mural painted on this world's ceiling
maybe the summer sky will sing watercolors into my ears
but oh the way she shrugged her shoulders
and spat out muted shades of charcoal
wrap my heart in blankets
and let her rest
let my eyes gaze upon the lighter end of the spectrum
and let the winds breathe the star's threads of gold onto my trembling skin
