Morning involves mist and mugs of tea
Drunk slowly sitting in bed
Staring out at terraced teabushes
Hearing, but not listening to the scream of parrots.
Morning should be there
And also bacon and cornflakes- the ideal breakfast.
But morning is really looking for socks
And packing your bag in a hurry
Listening for the roar of the engine of the van
Eating cheese sandwiches while knotting your tie.
