River Town
River Town
Flowing North
A very good direction to go
The river is meandering
Slowing sediments that look like popped pills flow through the stream
And out away to sea
River Town
A quiet jungle
With roars of the broken
And screams of the fallen
The liquid runs through
The veins of the unassuming river
And never stops
The river is flowing
Somewhere out to sea
The river is meandering
So surely, it would slow down
Or even stop
But it keeps going
Faster
Till the fallen
And the broken
Are ghosts and ghouls
Who haunt the River Town
No life lives forever
Dead men never rise up
Even the weariest river
Leads somewhere safe to sea

I wrote this piece about the growing number of incidents with drugs and alcohol around my area which is commonly reffered to as the "river towns" because there very close to the hudson river. We are all "somebody else" to somebody else.
