The Blood in My Veins

I need you like a pulse,
Like the blood flowing through my veins,
And that heart beating in my chest,
And those thoughts racing around my brain.
The day you leave, my pulse stops
No more blood in my veins,
No beating of my heart
And no thoughts in my brain.
