Daggers of the Heart
Daggers of the heart you are so familiar
I always feel you
Your silver eyes lurk in the powder blue waves above my head
And you wait.
The violins will ring you in
And you will laugh the way you do
Thick like rusted iron
And sour like acid rain.
Let me breathe for a moment familiar one
For if you wish to haunt me, you will need a heartbeat.
You have become the voice in my head
and the feeling of my feet in my shoes
and I know you yes I do.
Daggers of the heart I don’t know anything but you
