the truth ain't ever easy
Look at the bruised shadows
under my eyes
and tell me
I haven't slept a wink.
You're neither here nor there
always consumed by
something trite
in comparison to
what I'm going through.
You never contemplate
that I have always been
the one scraping back your
damp brown curls from
your round face
and making your dark green
gold flecked spoke wheel
eyes
smile like anything
yet every single morning
day and night
my pleas go unanswered
you sit in your room
hibernating
in the darkness
swilling back the gasoline taste
of Vodka
chugging viciously to
get me out of your head
lies clot your
full kissable lips
and make me die
inside a little
each time
you so much
utter a word
and I'm not there
so much as to catch
it
before it keeps
falling from
the void
you call your life
