Sun beating on back

voices below.
Sweaty hands gripping rough ropes.
autumn air
mulch
perspiring children
Onwards, downwards,
plan jump.
closer
closer
closer. . .

Ready to spring
muscles tense
knees bent
lean forward
NOW. . .

Falling
strong steel vanished
arm hit rope
suspended by right forearm
searing pain
black.

Woodchips
numb
no pain
try to get up using arm
fail.

Hurt as if
rip open arm
take out bones
replace with red-hot metal
sew with electric wire.
Agonizing.

Nurse
Doctor
X-ray
Emergency
blur of colors
brown, green, white
blue, black, white
tan, white
white
(always white).

Fracture
right radius bone
throbbing
now temporary resident
right antebrachium.
Broken
Arm.

Small plummets,
great injuries.
