Chaos in my Mind
Think.
Biting my lip in frustration,
The taste of iron enters my mouth.
Bitter,
Like the words you spoke to me,
The night when snow was falling all around us,
Coating my dark hair with white crystalline snowflakes.
Fragile,
Like my heart,
Seemingly made of glass that shatters so easily.
Caged,
My heart is now guarded,
Protected by a hutch of glares, dirty looks, and fake laughter.
Shrill,
Sounds of laughter from the girls in the freshman class,
Hurts my ears and makes me close my eyes shut,
wrinkles forming in the thin skin near my orbs.
Crooked,
the lines of the wrinkles converge,
and di-
verge,
creating jagged pathways.
Chaos,
My mind is chaos,
Voices of different calibers and tones,
Shouting,
Whispering,
Speaking to me,
Sending me into a whirl of frenzy,
Of craziness,
a whirlpool that I can’t seem to escape.
Trapped,
Trapped,
Trapped.
Dark,
The world goes dark,
And my light leaves the universe.
