Ignorance is bliss
Oh blissful ignorance
How I once longed for your touch
Your sweet kiss on my lips,
offering so much.
You fooled me once with your innocence
twice with your bliss
the third time with the familiarity
the fourth with another kiss.
So seducing, your lies
betraying me each time
cloaking the truth, shielding my eyes.
But now I'm older, wiser, and well aware
that blissful ignorance is
like breathing without air.
