She fumbles to get her key in the lock,
her watch screams nearly twelve o’clock.
But all she can think is how fast she can break,
to get up the stairs before it’s too late.

Her heart sinks when she hears an opening door,
she has learned well not to hide anymore.
The footsteps carry closer and closer,
is there a chance in hell he’s sober?

He emerges with a beer bottle in hand,
demanding to know where she has been.
And when her tears start to pour out,
he began to grab her and shout

Oh little lady, so young and frail.
Your eyes so grey and your skin pale.
This wasn’t supposed to end like this,
A love mistreated and gone amiss.

Thou may think of me as desired, to idolize or villanize me whichever you may choose. but gaze upon me and thou sall not see the husk of a man! for all my sins and all my bliss, i am anything but hollow <br /> -Ansem_Unlimited

this has good form, good word choice & good thought into it. I've always believed that a good poem embodies & reflects the person writing it, & in this school of thought you did very well
