the sirens
all those sirens in my head,
a reminder of the many times
i’ve been given beds to lay upon
in the emergency room.
each trying face stitched from a mother’s love.
the language i haven’t learnt yet.
all of those miserable moments
merge into a gut wrenching pain
exploding from a supernovae.
the piercing echo falls like a body dangling
the shadow of grief
surrounds me with the toxic air
i don’t wish to breathe,
