A Lifetime
I’ve never been one to be picked out from the crowd
I’ve never been one to be funny and loud
Always the quiet one in the back of the room
Until the day that I met you my life was a gloom
All of a sudden when you first told me “hi”
I didn’t know whether to smile or die
I never knew how much I admired light blue
Until I looked into your eyes, and that’s when I knew
That no one in my life could make me feel this way: Speechless, but with a million different things to say
I’ve never been one to be picked out from the crowd
I’ve never been one to be funny and loud
I was always secluded and tremendously shy
Until the day that you walked into my life
For some reason unknown you thought I was funny and the sound of my voice was perfectly fine
You’ll never understand how much I appreciate your grin or the dimple that forms on the side of your chin
But then again you feel the same way
About the lame little jokes I say everyday
I wanted to thank you for changing my life
And for giving me a lifetime in such little time
