A Star
Blue fades to black
as I sink deeper into the ocean.
The pressure suffocates me,
choking on water and leaving me cold inside.
I eagerly reach for the hand that pulls me up.
Floating to the surface,
I see the sky so blinding.
I reach out with arms open
and am accepted fully.
I had no knowledge of what would come.
I put my trust in the hand that saved me.
From the moment I left the black
and the moment I was pulled to safety from the ocean,
my soul was lit on fire
a star blazing bright.
Until my fuel runs out,
and death takes me,
I will live in a world of love,
my soul still aflame.
Always.
