You think he's fine
So you think he's fine
I beg to differ
He goes home to tell his sister he's high
Only to see tears stream down her precious face
He tells her he's going to change
You still think he's fine
He shuts down at any sign of stress
They say he has posttraumatic stress
He was five when he came home only to be beaten by his father and put down by his mother
He goes to his little sister, tears streaming down his face
To tell her to fly and never let people bring you down
You still think he's fine
He can't trust a soul not even his sisters
He protects his sister even if he can't win
He chooses to lie to get out of trouble
He goes to his room to stare at a picture
Of the little girl who changed his world
You still think he's fine
He runs from his problems
Hoping they don't catch him
He puts on a mask for the whole world to see
When really on the inside he's a scared boy trying to find comfort
Love they say can help him
But the only person who loves him is me
You still think he's fine
He goes to tell his sister goodnight
Tears stream down his face
He walks in with the fresh cut resting on his arms
From the razor blade that lays upon the sink
She begs him to stop
She thinks it's her fault
But all she can do is watch as the blood slowly runs down his arm
You still think he's fine
She comes home one day
She hears the crying of her parents
And all she can think about is the one she probably lost
As she goes to his hospital room tears falling down her face
She pray that everything is fine
She expects the worst but hopes for the best
He's overdosed again
She tries to come close but he beg her not to
Because he doesn't want to see the only thing he cares about get hurt
You still think he's fine
He tries everyday to do better
He avoids the lies that tell him he's fine
He's system is clean of hazard he injects
She gives him a gift
A drawing with him and his new baby sister
She loves him and that's all he needs
He's love is as deep as an oceans and as wild as a fire
She prays for the best as she cannot not see what the future holds
All she can do is look at the good times
And remind him to smile
