Moments
There are moments,
when life is beautiful,
and people are beautiful.
When serenity is present,
and the grass moves with the wind.
Everything is calm.
These moments,
times when I breathe in the pure air
and believe that life has a purpose.
When I am content to lay in the dewy grass
and watch the stars fall,
content to live in the moments.
Moments.
When it just seems right, fitting, perfect...
There isn’t a single word to describe it.
And then a day comes,
when everything abruptly changes.
We are forced to change in response.
There are moments.
When I am not sure who I am
or what I am here for.
When beauty has no purpose,
and grass is no longer as green
as it used to be.
These moments.
Times when I wish I could believe,
in something other than sorrow.
When I am desperately trying to believe
that glass doesn't break,
and hearts are not as fragile.
Moments.
When we realize that we are so
much stronger than we thought we were.
