&ldquo;Llonio said life was a net for luck; to Hevydd the Smith life was a forge; and to Dwyvach the Weaver-Woman a loom. They spoke truly, for it is all of these. But you,&#039; Taran said, his eyes meeting the potter&#039;s, &#039;you have shown me life is one thing more. It is clay to be shaped, as raw clay on a potter&#039;s wheel.&rdquo; <br /> ― Lloyd Alexander, Taran Wanderer

Your love is a cold one

A love that binds and freezes my heart wide open

So I never miss the first petals of winter

Fall away to the storms of summer

And I cannot live without its touch

Be careful where your snow falls

And how the light strikes the millions of facets of your smile

Because it is blinding

You hold frozen lavender petals

And spread them on dark water

Beside ice and snow

I was going for an e. e. cummings feel to this one, and it was snowing outside at the moment, so I considered what it would be like to write about love as a cold thing in a good way. This is what came out.
