wounds
I grew up believing love only happened to a few lucky people. Except when I found you, I thought we'd be together forever. I gave you my heart, trusted you with my all. The choice was yours, to shatter it or keep it one piece. Day by day, you tapped at it, cracking it more and more. Once it broke, you stood and watched me pick up the mess. The shards of my shattered heart cut my fingertips but it seemed like only your wounds were tended to.
