A Misconception in Romance

Tell me I’m beautiful
So I can add another tick
And count all the times you’ve lied to me.
Look into my eyes
But don’t notice
The tears threatening to spill.
Gently kiss my lips
And rake your tongue over
The blisters on my lips.
Think of the moment as romantic
Because you are ignorant
To whom I really am.
Tell me you love me
And honestly believe it
Just like everybody else.
