Stuck.
Stuck in this town.
For 15 years.
No way out.
Destined to live the life of a robot.
Sitting behind a desk for 13 years.
To go on by sitting in a lecture room for another four,
just listening to someone talk.
Only to go and sit behind yet another desk.
Forty to fifty years of the same thing everyday.
Then retiring when that hour glass is almost empty,
finally getting to actually live.
I don’t want that.
I don’t want to die not having lived my life to the fullest.
I want to travel the open road.
Be free, like an eagle.
I need to feed my gypsy soul.
Wander from place to place.
Go to areas some could only dream of going.
Experience life in other cultures,
in other cities,
countries,
continents.
See the seven wonders of the world.
Hold up the leaning tower of Pisa.
See the beauty of Paris from the Eiffel Tower.
Adventure through the jungles of South America.
Travel across America on Route 66.
My point is,
I don’t want to live the same life as everybody else.  
I want to be happy with my life.
For some,
that could mean staying in the same place,
and raising a family.
But that’s not for me.
I need excitement.
Adventure.
And hopefully one day,
I’ll get that.
For now though,
I’m stuck in this town.
But at least I have my best friends stuck here with me.
