Dirge To The Picture Frame Over There

Oh you ageless protector,
You oaken membrane,
Coddling your lifeless
Picture for a thousand years.
Your presence ever-fleeting,
Transcending realms you are,
From the deceitful illusion
Into the eminence of truth.
I entomb you gingerly
On this azure summer morn,
A lonely tear traverses my face
And imbeds itself above your restful
Soul.
