Faults
Loneliness, unhappiness, despair
Other words crumpled in my hair
Forgetfullness, laziness, words unsaid
Phrases found in my bed
Jealousy, envy, hate
Words I try to leave at my gate
These are the faults within me
That, too others, aren't so plain to see
My worst enemies are my friends
And my friends will be my end
For I am human, full and true
I am I and you are you
We have mistakes inside of us
That we have all learned to trust
For our faults are who we truly are
Like the fuel inside our car
But we have good in us too
That I will see as I meet you
Happiness, laughter, love
These things take flight, like a dove
Ecstacy, euphoria, content
Words to you I'd like to vent
Sad and mad won't go away
For though we're good, our faults will stay

This piece was inspired by the fact that no is perfect, and even though people are good inside, you'd be hard pressed to find someone without faults, because they make people who they are, and define us as humans.
