rivalry of the blood
You thought you could trap me
suffocate me in your cloud of ice vapor
leaking through your porous skin
seeking refuge from being contained
by constricted air tight veins.
You thought with a steely glare
a tell tale twitch of your big, saucer eyes
that I would wither beneath your guise.
You were so very wrong.
Instead, I stood stark still;
and peered into the shadows
framing your heart shaped face
I pressed a hand to your suddenly shaking body
and you quaked under my steaming hot touch.
Your eyes became alight with anguish,
your pillow lips sank lower and lower,
until they were melting off your face;
your whole body from your suddenly bubbling features
(my power lies within the fiery core of my soul)
began burning with such an intensity
flames licked up and down your toothpick arms
your torso rippled with liquid heat
in your chest
your four chambered heart beat faintly
a flicker of life
waiting to be expelled
But just like that
the confines of my mind
the electric lightning strike
thought appeared seemingly
out of nowhere
my own pulse stilled
my own body flooded with clarity
I spit a heat wave at your feet
my eyes seared into your own
aquamist orbs
pupils dilated
large with fright
I laughed aloud\
a harsh. grating cackle
that made thunder crackle
from the Heavens above
it must have been a godsend
pun intended
that in my past
I had dealt with enemies
far bigger than life itself
and you were there
right with me
flashing a jagged killer shark's smile
waiting to plunge the knife
into my exposed heart
but I pulled it out
blood spurting everywhere
and stabbed you back.
