Nothing but blank faces

I look around and see nothing but
Blank faces
Faces devoid of passion, of love
So I look away
I glance instead to the light above
The light slicing through the dark from the windows above me
It promises more to this life than
Blank faces
It promised that light is always present
One just needs to know where to look
