Always remember, your haters are your biggest fans. Those who criticize you are only begging you to get better.

The Earth is a penny

The Earth is a penny
On the sidewalk
People pass by everyday
They are the asteroids
Whizzing like rockets
Grazing our humanity
The sidewalk is the plane
Of our existence
And each second it’s there
It’s closer to being gone
The Earth is a penny
On the sidewalk
On Universe Street

Where I Belong

On a grassy hill
Just south of nowhere
Where wind is nil
And at the birds I stare

There I feel wanted
And not set in stone
I am not daunted
By being alone

The trees are my friends
The birds, my neighbors
In a city, you’ll meet dead ends
But here you’ll never labor

Of all the places I could be
I choose to be here
Of all the things I could see
I choose to see deer

Oh, I could leave
And never come back
But on night eves
When the bird whistles and stacks

His nest for his babies
Thats when I realize
That just maybe
Here is where I belong

Haiku for Two

The rain slowly falls
Clinging to my eyelashes
God is crying now

Stars glitter at night
But are silent in the day
People are like that

Calling you

Fantastic
Flying
           Beautiful
           Brave
Loud
Glittering
           Nature is
Calling
           He wants you to
           come
He’s waiting
Still waiting

I Am A Hummingbird

I am a hummingbird
Beautiful and lively
Funny things have occurred
Always involving me

I flit and fly
From one thing to the next
Never asking why
But I love to wander and connect

I am a hummingbird
Beautiful and lively
Of things I have incurred
Being a friend is the most special one to me

Who I Am

I see……
Eyes that mirror the soul
Hair as straight as a bone
I see a face spread in a smile
And a nose that hates me
For it never looks right
I see ears ready to listen
And a mouth ready to speak
I see a devilish malice
Lurking in the background of my complexion
I see a person who has tried
And succeeded
And sometimes failed
I see a person
A person I feel outside of sometimes
A person who is kind
But also mean
I see a person who cares
An interesting
Lively
Restless
Caring
Rebellious
Unique person; I see me
And I make sure to wave back
When I pass her in the mirror

The author's comments:

These are all poems I wrote as assignments in seventh grade, but I really put a lot of thought into them, so I thought I should share.
