I Am Me
There are many things I could be,
But, the truth is what you’ll see.
As true as can be,
This is me.
I’m the drop of rain from the sky,
That’ll touch your lips but will not pry.
I’m one of the many near the moon,
Shining even in the early noon.
But I’m also a vase of roses,
Petals wilting as the bud slowly closes.
My body, the vase,
Hopeful still, as it breaks with grace.
I am a doll, repairs along my seams,
But, forever filled with child-like dreams.
I am a lens upon that eye,
I will always stay nearby.
This is who I should be,
Who you truly should see.
Imperfection made perfect,
Joyful of the image I reflect.
This is who I am.
I. Am. Me.
