Thank You
In five hours on a dark plane
while everybody slept
you taught me
how to be completely real
no secrets,
nothing hidden,
and that you don’t have to be perfect
to be incredible
In the winery on top of the hill
among the sounds of live guitar
you explained to me
how to open my mind
with philosophy,
and metaphysics,
you said edges don’t have to be straight
to have function
On the lawn adjoining the school
while people wandered past
you shared with me
how to find delight
in dreams,
and ideas,
and that things don’t have to be big
to be beautiful
thank you
