A priggish finger points
where I will build them a house.
An ivory smile orders
the food that I will feed them with.
A figure is photographed
with the ailing child I will carry home.
A businessman designs
the coats that I will sew for them.
A false God bellows
for the pain of people whom I am healing.
This imposter
This trickster who they worship
This one they call hero
wearing a golden crown
that I have polished
